DTL's goal is to make research data FAIR. You may have heard of the term FAIR data in many different places, but it was developed in DTL.

FAIR stands for

  • Findable: Not only searchable, not only discoverable, but Findable
  • Accessible: Not necessarily open, but available under known conditions
  • Interoperable: Data sets can be coupled, in our case we use Linked Data technologies
  • Reusable: Data is so well described that it can really be used for followup research

All of this must be for humans as well as for computers.
