DTL's goal is to make research data FAIR. You may have heard of the term FAIR data in many different places, but it was developed in DTL.
FAIR stands for
- Findable: Not only searchable, not only discoverable, but Findable
- Accessible: Not necessarily open, but available under known conditions
- Interoperable: Data sets can be coupled, in our case we use Linked Data technologies
- Reusable: Data is so well described that it can really be used for followup research
All of this must be for humans as well as for computers.
