ELIXIR is the European Life Science Infrastructure for Biological Information, with the tagline: ‘Data for Life’); a project of the European Strategy Forum on Research and Innovation (ESFRI).

ELIXIR is a virtual research infrastructure, this means there is not one single place where the institute is concentrated. Instead, each participating country will build their own NODE, and the ELIXIR organization will use a central coordination to make sure these nodes work together to realize the European goals. The coordinating node for ELIXIR will be in the UK, at EBI.

DTL hosts the Dutch node in ELIXIR.
