Dr. Hailiang (Leon) Mei

Leon was born in Beijing, China. He received his bachelor degree in 2001 from Beijing University of Technology and his Master of Science degree from the Technical University of Delft in July, 2003. Both are in the field of Electrical Engineering.
8-2003 ~ 7-2005. He participated in EU ITEA Space4U project as a researcher with the focus on remote device management.
7-2005 ~ 9-2009. He worked as a Ph.D. candidate in the Computer Science Department of the University of Twente. His PhD topic is on Smart Distribution of Bio-Signal Process in Mobile Healthcare. He successfully defended his PhD thesis (Task Distribution Based Adaptation in Mobile Patient Monitoring Systems) in June 2010.
9-2009 ~ 8-2013. He worked at the Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre (NBIC) where he was the coordinator of the Next Generation Sequencing taskforce and developed several text-mining based applications used in the life science area.
